In terms of market, China is the largest rubber consuming country of Vietnam in the first 11 months of 2024 with a market share of 67.6%, followed by India with a market share of 7.7%, countries in the European Union (EU) with a market share of 6% and South Korea with a market share of 2.5%. In the group of 15 largest export markets, rubber export value increased in all markets, of which the strongest was Malaysia with a 5-fold increase and Sri Lanka with a 3.7-fold increase.
In 2024, the rubber industry faced a major challenge due to the EU’s zero-deforestation regulations. Accordingly, the EU requires rubber products imported into this market to clearly demonstrate their origin and comply with environmental protection standards. However, by fully meeting the requirements and constantly improving product quality, the rubber export industry has grown strongly, affirming its position in the global supply chain.
According to the Vietnam Rubber Association (VRA), our country's rubber export turnover in 2024 is expected to reach 3-3.2 billion USD, about 100-300 million USD higher than in 2023.
In addition, 2025 is expected to be a year of stronger development for the Vietnamese rubber industry.
