Mr. Ho Tan Minh, Chief of Office of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, said that the entrance exam for grade 6 at Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) is expected to be held in mid-June and there will be full instructions.
The school plans to enroll 350 sixth graders for the 2025-2026 school year.
According to the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, based on the project to reorganize Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted into Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School and Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City wants to maintain stability for Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School, so the enrollment target for grade 6 this year is the same as last year, specifically 350 students.
Regarding the admission method, the competency assessment test will continue to be conducted as in the previous school year. Specifically, candidates will take the test in 90 minutes. The test will be conducted in June 2025, instead of July as in previous years. The reason for the earlier test is because the city's primary school admissions are expected to be completed by the end of June (2 months earlier than last year), so the 6th grade admissions for Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School will also be conducted earlier.
Also according to the HCM City Department of Education and Training, this is the first year that candidates will take the test according to the 2018 General Education Program. However, the content of the test will remain stable as every year, because the nature of the test over the years has always been organized by HCM City in the direction of assessing students' application ability.
Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training wants to maintain stability for Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School.
