15,000 people are expected to attend the Melody for Peace International Concert in Quang Tri.

The program is expected to take place on the evening of July 20, at the outdoor stage of the Quang Tri Provincial Cultural - Cinema Center. This is the first festival with a message of peace held in Quang Tri, to honor the value of peace, pay tribute to heroic martyrs, commemorate war victims; contribute to enhancing the position and image of the country and people of Vietnam; build Quang Tri into a cultural space for peace...

The first Peace Festival was held on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the signing of the Geneva Agreement on the cessation of war and the restoration of peace in Indochina (July 20, 1954 - July 20, 2024), the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2024), towards the 50th anniversary of the complete liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025); is a national and international cultural, sports and tourism event and activity in the period 2024 - 2025 according to Decision No. 3032/QD-BVHTTDL dated October 16, 2023 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The festival will last from June 29 to July 26 with many exciting activities. Among them, the international concert Melody for Peace with the theme “Quang Tri memories bloom” is the key activity of the festival.

This is the first large-scale international music exchange program in Quang Tri, organized by the Vietnam - Korea Cultural and Economic Industry Association (under the iFELLOWSHIP International Cooperation Organization) in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Tri province and other agencies and departments.

Mr. Nguyen Quang Huy said that up to now, the international concert program Melody of Peace has 10 international art troupes confirmed to participate, including: Korea, Japan, USA, France, China, Australia, Cuba, Ukraine...

The concert program is expected to consist of three parts: Peace in the eyes of children, Quang Tri memories bloom and Quang Tri - a peaceful destination. This is one of the first large-scale international music exchange programs in Quang Tri.

The highlight of the music night was the performance of the theme song Melody of Peace with the participation of 1,001 Vietnamese and international children and 1,001 performing drones.

According to Mr. Nguyen Quang Huy, the music night will feature a fashion show of Ao Dai, introducing the typical cultural colors of 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups. Notably, this Ao Dai collection is made from recycled materials, which are environmentally friendly.

In addition, the organizers plan to showcase a collection of Ao Dai with motifs that are characteristic of 192 countries that have diplomatic relations with Vietnam.

“The music night will take viewers back in time, back to the glorious history of the struggle of the people of Quang Tri in particular and the people of the whole country in general in the war against foreign invaders. At the same time, this is also a symphony of joy and happiness when living in a peaceful and prosperous society, promoting the image of the land and people of Quang Tri, Vietnam as friendly and hospitable, while spreading the spirit of peace-loving to people at home and abroad,” Mr. Huy shared.

Some key activities within the framework of the 2024 Peace Festival

- The Cycling for Peace Festival is the opening activity for the 2024 Peace Festival, taking place on June 29 and 30, at the special national relic site of Hien Luong - Ben Hai and the special national relic site of Quang Tri ancient citadel.

- Opening of the Festival for Peace with the theme Connecting Bridges on the evening of July 6, at the special relic site of Hien Luong - Ben Hai.

- Trinh Cong Son's music night with the theme Song of Peace at Fidel Park, Dong Ha City, Quang Tri on the evening of July 13.

- The international music exchange program Melody of Peace - Quang Tri memories bloom at the Quang Tri Cultural - Cinema Center, Dong Ha city, Quang Tri province, took place on the evening of July 20.

- The Peace Wish Program in Quang Tri town, Quang Tri province, took place on the evening of July 26.
