Tourists have dinner while watching Dalat from the restaurant on the old train

The restaurant is located on the old train cars of Da Lat. Tourists can enjoy dinner while watching the night city while the train moves between Da Lat - Trai Mat.

On the evening of April 14, Vietnam Railways Corporation launched a night train route from Da Lat to Trai Mat called "Da Lat Night Journey".

Accordingly, in addition to the regular train pairs running during the day, Vietnam Railways Corporation will organize two more train pairs DL11/DL12 and DL3/DL14, departing from Da Lat station at 6:15 p.m. (DL11) and 8:20 p.m. (DL13) to serve passengers.

In the opposite direction, train DL12 departs from Trai Mat station at 19:15 and DL14 departs at 21:20.

"Da Lat Night Journey" is a tourism product that Da Lat station has put into operation to continue to bring passengers new experiences, feel the beauty of Da Lat at night, contribute to diversifying services and developing local tourism.

In particular, the train serves restaurant-quality meals so that visitors can enjoy dinner while admiring Dalat at night from the old train cars.

In addition, while on the train, visitors can also enjoy classical music performances.

Mr. Dao Anh Tuan - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Saigon Railway Transport Joint Stock Company - said: "We are aware that railway is not just a means of transportation, but also an emotional experience, connection, sharing, and spreading.

"This is very true for the special railway line that transports tourists from Da Lat station. "Da Lat night journey" with a train journey of about 1 hour (30 minutes on the way there and 30 minutes on the way back) and a train speed of 15km/h, at night, tourists can comfortably relax and admire Da Lat".

In 2023, Da Lat station has implemented night tourism activities with new tourism products such as bringing music on the old train and organizing wedding services with a new style right on the train and in the old station area. These tourism products are becoming the highlight of Da Lat night tourism.

The Da Lat - Trai Mat line is 6.7km long, the remaining part of the 84km Thap Cham - Da Lat line, connecting Ninh Thuan with Lam Dong, which was put into operation in 1932, built by the French. This is the only unique cog railway in Vietnam serving tourists visiting Da Lat city.
