It seems that traveling to Thailand just once is not enough for most Vietnamese tourists. Japan, Korea, Singapore and China are also destinations that Vietnamese tourists choose to return to many times.

Kanchanaburi is a peaceful mountainous province located on the poetic River Kwai in western Thailand.

On August 27, Agoda's "Return Destinations" Ranking revealed that 75% of Vietnamese tourists often choose to return to their favorite tourist destinations.

Compiled from searches on the Agoda platform earlier this month, the Ranking shows that not only Thailand, but also Japan, South Korea, Singapore and China are destinations that Vietnamese tourists choose to return to many times.

Based on data from travelers who have recently booked a trip to their favorite destination, the results show that about 47% of Vietnamese travelers want to “Explore” on their next trip. Meanwhile, 39% of Vietnamese prefer to experience “culinary” and 26% said they are looking forward to experiencing “culture and arts”.

64% of travelers have returned to their favorite destination 1-3 times in the past 10 years, making up the largest share of repeat visitors. Notably, about 8% of travelers have returned to their favorite country more than 10 times.

Mr. Vu Ngoc Lam, Country Director of Agoda Vietnam, shared that while some tourists like to explore many new tourist destinations around the world, there are also groups that want to return to their favorite countries.

Filtered by Asian region, Japan, Thailand and Vietnam are the destinations that attract Asian tourists to return thanks to the convenience of travel.

According to Agoda’s “Return Destinations” Ranking, Vietnamese travelers return to Thailand, Japan, and South Korea not only because these are interesting destinations but also because of the memorable experiences they find there.

When asked about the factors that attract Vietnamese tourists to return, the majority said that “convenience in transportation” (50%) is the top factor, followed by “local cuisine” (47%) and “convenient location” (34%). In addition, factors such as “safety and cleanliness” and “previous interesting experiences” also contribute significantly to tourists’ decision to return.

Based on data filtered by Asian regions, Japan, Thailand and Vietnam are the tourist attraction Asia returns. 44% of Asian visitors said “Convenience of travel” was the top factor that made them return here.
