Tourists still visit Ha Long Bay normally by seaplane

On April 8, information from the Quang Ninh Department of Tourism said that after the helicopter service was suspended following a tragic accident that killed 5 people, the locality still maintains the seaplane service to see Ha Long Bay.

Seaplane flights to see Ha Long Bay are operated by Hai Au Airlines with 8 flights per day, each flight lasts 25 minutes, departing from Tuan Chau Island.

The current price of a seaplane ticket to Tuan Chau is 1.5 million VND. The seaplane tour to see Ha Long Bay lasts 25 minutes with the route of Tuan Chau Island - Dau Be Island - Cong Do Island - Bo Hon Island - Tuan Chau Island.

According to information from Hai Au Airlines, the seaplane used for Ha Long Bay sightseeing service is a Cessna Caravan C208B-EX, manufactured in 2014 and imported from the US.

The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) said that the Cessna Caravan C208B-EX seaplane is the largest single-engine aircraft and also the safest single-engine aircraft to take off and land on water.

Seaplane windows have a wide view

To be able to take off and land on water and operate safely in Ha Long Bay, the seaplane is equipped with two floats underneath the plane and inside the plane is a system of modern aviation equipment, weather radar, storm tracking system, GPS system... Each sightseeing flight of the Ha Long seaplane can carry a maximum of 12 passengers.

Hai Au Airlines informed that from April 6 until now, there are still a few flights taking off every day to bring tourists to see Ha Long Bay from above.
