VIDEO: Dalat tourists look forward to cherry blossoms blooming
It is noted that at some familiar and famous cherry blossom viewing locations that locals and tourists come to see and take photos every year such as Tran Hung Dao Street, Xuan Huong Lake, Cau Dat Tea Hill... this year the flowers bloomed late and were not as brilliant as in previous years.
However, along the roads from National Highway 27, Cau Dat Tea Hill extending to Hung Vuong and Tran Hung Dao streets (Da Lat City), visitors can still see some cherry blossom trees blooming along the roadside.
The cherry blossoms in Da Lat are characterized by shiny bark, long-toothed leaves, and a fine layer of hair on the surface. Although the trunk resembles peach and plum, the flowers are single-petaled, like apricot blossoms. That is why they are called “both peach and apricot” as cherry blossoms.
Unlike previous years, the above locations were crowded with tourists taking pictures. This year, many visitors just passed through the cherry blossom gardens, took a few pictures, and then went to other locations.
Ms. Nguyen Huynh, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City, said she had been eagerly waiting for the cherry blossom season, but this year the flowers bloomed late so she could not take many pictures.
Some cherry blossom trees in alley 31 Sao Nam, ward 11, Da Lat city have begun to bloom.
Tourists take advantage of the opportunity to take pictures with cherry blossoms at Cau Dat Tea Hill. This year, many cherry blossom trees have sprouted and grown leaves mixed with the flowers, making the trees less brilliant.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Tien (living in Ward 9, Da Lat City) shared: "I am really looking forward to and counting the days waiting for the cherry blossoms to bloom, but currently there are many cherry blossom trees that have not yet fully bloomed but have already sprouted green leaves, so it is difficult for the flowers to bloom on a whole hill or a street."
According to Mr. Tien, if Da Lat continues to be warm and sunny, areas such as Mong Dao Nguyen, Xuan Huong Lake... flowers will bloom on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin 2024.
