On the morning of September 6, the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City and the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) organized the 248th Dialogue Conference between the information technology - electronics - telecommunications industry and the city government.
The conference attracted more than 250 representatives of registered businesses to attend, receiving and answering more than 25 questions related to issues of upgrading information technology infrastructure in Ho Chi Minh City.
Regarding tax issues, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tinh, representative of Cainver Company Limited, which sells on Vietnamese e-commerce platforms and foreign platforms such as Alibaba and Amazon, wondered which tax policies businesses should apply and whether there are specific instructions or not?
A representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department said that the issue that the enterprise is raising is very broad. If the enterprise has any questions, it can send a document to the tax authority directly for a specific answer.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tinh, representative of Cainver Company Limited, raised the issue.
Mr. Hoang Chau, representative of a technology company, spoke.
After the Tax Department 's response , Mr. Hoang Chau, a representative of a technology company, said that the business had repeatedly sent questions about tax issues to the Tax Department's website or phone, but the results were very vague and non-specific answers.
Therefore, businesses come to this conference with the desire to meet directly with the leaders of the Tax Department to clearly answer questions, but the tax authority requires contact, sending documents or other channels.
Adding to the difficulties in digital transformation of enterprises, a representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Business Association (HUBA) said that in recent years, digital transformation service providers have not met the needs of enterprises.
What businesses need is how to digitally transform, where to start, what equipment to buy, how much money it will cost, but most suppliers use difficult technical terms, making it difficult for businesses in need to understand, leading to very limited digital transformation results.
"Suppliers should change their target, come to businesses and not talk about the need but tell them how to do it, how much it costs, and give instructions. That will be effective" - HUBA representative said.
