Weather forecast September 5, 2024: Hanoi hot 36 degrees, rough sea due to storm No. 3

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 7:00 p.m. on September 4, the center of storm Yagi (storm No. 3) was located at about 19.2 degrees North latitude; 116.9 degrees East longitude, in the northeastern sea area of the North East Sea, about 650km east of Hainan Island (China). The strongest wind near the center of the storm is level 13-14 (134-166km/h), gusting to level 17, moving in the West Northwest direction, speed 5-10km/h.

At 7:00 p.m. on September 5, the center of the storm was at about 19.6 degrees North latitude, 114.3 degrees East longitude, about 360 km east of Hainan Island (China); intensity level 15, gust level 17; moving in the West Northwest direction, speed 10-15 km/h.

Forecast of storm impact: The North East Sea area has strong winds of level 10-12, the area near the storm's eye has winds of level 13-15, gusting over level 17; the sea is very rough. From September 5-6, storm No. 3 continues to increase in intensity, possibly reaching level 16, gusting over level 17 in the northern sea area of the North East Sea.

The sea area of the North East Sea has waves 5-7m high, near the storm center 7-10m. From September 6, the wave height may gradually increase to 10-12m. Ships operating in the above-mentioned dangerous areas are likely to be affected by strong winds and large waves.

On land, today's weather forecast (September 5) is that the Northern region and the area from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien Hue will be hot and sunny, with showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and at night.

Area from Da Nang - Binh Thuan : Sunny during the day, hot in the north; showers and thunderstorms in some places in the afternoon and evening, especially in the area from Quang Ngai - Binh Thuan, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening, with heavy rain in some places.

The Central Highlands region has rain, moderate rain and thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain with rainfall from 20-40mm, locally over 80mm.

The Southern region has scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall from 10-30mm, locally over 60mm (rain concentrated in the afternoon and evening). During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.
