According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, yesterday (September 28), there were showers and local thunderstorms in the mountainous areas of the North.

Weather forecast from the evening of September 29 to the end of the night of September 30, in the Northern region and Thanh Hoa, there will be moderate rain, heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain with total rainfall from 50-100mm, locally over 200mm.

In addition, from the evening of September 28 to the afternoon of September 29, in the mountainous and midland areas of the North, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain with rainfall from 15-30mm, locally over 80mm. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

The meteorological agency warned that from October 1, heavy rains will decrease in the Northern region. Heavy rains and localized heavy rains are likely to cause flooding in low-lying areas; flash floods on small rivers and streams; and landslides on steep slopes.
