Weather forecast October 14, 2024: Light fog, scattered thunderstorms in the North

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the weather trend from now until October 15 is as follows:

The Northern and North Central regions will have rain in some places, with scattered light fog in the early morning and sunny days. In the mountainous and midland regions of the North, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places. From October 14, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places. On October 15, there will be heavy rain in some places.

The Central and South Central regions will have scattered showers and thunderstorms; from the afternoon and night of October 14, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, with heavy rain in some places.

It is forecasted that tonight (October 13), in the Southern Central Highlands and the South, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall from 10-30mm, locally over 50mm.

From the afternoon of October 14, in the area from Thua Thien Hue to Binh Thuan, the Central Highlands and the South, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall from 15-30mm, locally over 70mm.

During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rain can cause flooding in low-lying areas; flash floods on small rivers and streams, and landslides on steep slopes.

Regarding the weather at sea, on the night of October 13 and the day of October 14, the North East Sea (including the waters of the Hoang Sa archipelago), the waters from Quang Ngai to Khanh Hoa and the Gulf of Thailand will have showers and thunderstorms. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind of level 7-8.

In addition, the northern sea area of the North East Sea has strong northeast winds of level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7-8; rough seas; waves 2-3m high.

All vessels operating in the above areas are at risk of being affected by tornadoes and strong gusts of wind.

Da Nang – Binh Thuan
