Waterer said there is still a chance of a correction that could see gold prices fall, given the rapid pace of gains since the start of the month. However, there is reason to believe that buyers will remain interested in gold as economic uncertainty continues to dominate the market.
Gold is seen as a safe haven asset in times of economic uncertainty. The precious metal has gained nearly 33% this year. However, gold’s relative strength index (RSI) is at 79, indicating that it is overbought.
Markets are awaiting speeches from several US Federal Reserve (Fed) officials later in the week on monetary policy amid concerns about instability at the US Central Bank.
