Domestic pepper prices updated on the afternoon of April 24, 2025

According to experts, the sharp increase in pepper prices is considered to be the result of limited supply after harvest, combined with farmers' psychology of hoarding goods and waiting for prices to rise. Meanwhile, stable world prices at high levels continue to create positive momentum for the domestic market.

Domestically, pepper production is being heavily affected by the weather. Prolonged drought in the first months of 2025 has negatively impacted major pepper growing areas in the Central Highlands and the Southeast.

While output shows signs of decline, domestic pepper prices remain high, providing peace of mind to growers. Vietnam is currently entering the peak harvest period, expected to last until the end of April 2025.

In the coming time, if demand from major markets such as the Middle East and Europe increases sharply in the second quarter, the market may continue to receive new price increases, especially in localities with good pepper quality such as Dak Lak and Dak Nong.

Although high prices are a positive signal for pepper growers, they create many difficulties for export enterprises. VPSA forecasts that in the second quarter, export activities may face many challenges due to high prices reducing purchasing power and affecting the financial capacity of import partners.
