Experts predict that the global pepper supply will not be enough to meet the increasing demand, causing prices to increase sharply from the beginning of 2025, opening up development opportunities for the "black gold" production and trading industry.

Currently, farmers in the Central Highlands provinces have begun the pepper harvest with optimism as prices show many positive signs compared to the same period last year. Although erratic weather has reduced output and pepper has not ripened evenly, the positive prices have helped farmers hope for a favorable crop.

According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), instead of massively expanding pepper growing areas, Vietnamese pepper farmers are now focusing on improving product quality, applying sustainable farming methods and combining intercropping to reduce costs, while better adapting to the impacts of climate change.
