Coffee price forecast tomorrow 6/2/202 5

Yesterday (February 5), domestic coffee prices witnessed a sharp decline, losing the 130,000 VND/kg mark, down 2,500 VND/kg compared to the previous trading session. Many investors are wondering whether this is just a temporary decrease or will lead to a deeper downward trend in the near future.

In that context, many farmers in Vietnam have decided to sell coffee at VND130,000/kg, feeling that this is a reasonable price to recover capital. Coffee market experts believe that financial investors selling coffee right from the beginning of the trading session has caused prices to fall without any signs of recovery.

The situation also comes as Brazil, the world’s top coffee producer, recorded record exports at the start of the season, leading to a current supply squeeze. Stocks on exchanges are now at their lowest since November 2024. Despite the increase in coffee awaiting inspection, supply concerns remain.

According to Reuters, many investors are rushing into the coffee market with a buying trend, while farmers are delaying sales in the hope that prices will continue to rise. The rise of the real against the dollar also reduces the motivation for coffee producers in Brazil to sell.

In the Vietnamese market, coffee prices in the Central Highlands provinces had previously fallen sharply, but experts said this was an expected decline. Due to the scarcity of inventories, domestic coffee prices have begun to recover. It is forecasted that on February 6, 2025, coffee prices may continue to increase, the increase may exceed 1,000 VND/kg.
