Responding to the proposal to speed up the construction progress of the project through Tay Son district, Binh Dinh province, and at the same time, build a residential road and a drainage system to ensure that people along the route can soon stabilize their lives, the Ministry of Transport said that recently, the Ministry has urged Project Management Board 2, the supervision consultant and the construction contractor to urgently mobilize resources to complete the remaining work items.

To date, the project to enhance traffic connectivity in the Central Highlands region has basically completed 7/8 bidding packages.

"The remaining work volume is mainly in package XL01. Up to now, the package's output has reached 75% of the contract value, expected to be completed in October 2024.

However, the construction site still has problems at Ba La and Bau Sen bridges. Compensation and support for house shaking and cracking have not been completely resolved, leading to some households not agreeing to the construction," said the Ministry of Transport.

More specific information about the progress of resolving petitions from people in the area where the project passes through, according to the Ministry of Transport, regarding the adjustment and addition of residential roads and drainage systems, the leaders of the Ministry of Transport have directly worked with the leaders of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province and Tay Son district to promptly remove difficulties in site clearance.

Implementing the direction of the Ministry, Project Management Board 2 has coordinated with local authorities to review and resolve existing problems, minimizing impacts on the daily life and production needs of local people such as: adjusting and supplementing the road system at the head of Ba La and Bau Sen bridges; adjusting the design of the longitudinal drainage system from trapezoidal ditches to U-shaped ditches at some locations through residential areas, adding cross-road drainage culverts...

Regarding compensation and support for houses affected by shaking and cracking during construction, the Ministry of Transport has requested the project management board to direct the contractor to coordinate with the insurance unit to urgently resolve the issue; to date, 248/893 households have been paid, 790/893 households have been counted, and the remaining 103 households are continuing to be counted.

"The Ministry of Transport hopes that National Assembly deputies and voters of Binh Dinh province will continue to pay attention and give opinions to the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province and the People's Committee of Tay Son district to direct relevant departments, branches and units of the locality to coordinate to speed up the site clearance progress to hand over the entire project in July 2024 so that the project can ensure quality, progress, and soon be completed and put into operation," the document stated.

The project to enhance traffic connectivity in the Central Highlands region will upgrade about 127km of National Highway 19 and build about 27-35km of new bypass with a total investment of nearly 156 million USD.

Of which, the World Bank's International Development Association (IDA) loan is 150 million USD; Counterpart capital is equivalent to 3.7 million USD.
