Ninh Thuan : Van Lam - Son Hai Road Project is expected to open to traffic at the end of June 2024

Of the total length of more than 13 km of the Van Lam - Son Hai Road Project, the final section (connecting the coastal road) of 6.67 km has been put into use; the first section (connecting with National Highway 1A) has completed 95% of the contract value.

A representative of the Ninh Thuan Province Traffic Project Management Board (hereinafter referred to as the Management Board) said that the Van Lam - Son Hai Road Project has been handed over the final section (from Km0+800 to Km1+857), and is expected to open to traffic at the end of June.

Accordingly, the project has a length of 13,077 km, divided into 2 construction packages: package 25 and package 26.

Specifically, package No. 26 (section from Km3+620 to Km8+200 and section from Km11+250 to Km13+077) has a length of 6.67 km, with a total contract value of VND102,644 billion. To date, this road section has been completed and handed over for use.

In particular, package No. 25 (section from Km0+000 to Km3+620 and section from Km8+200 to Km11+250) has a length of 6.407 km, with a total contract value of VND176,764 billion. To date, the total completed value has reached 95% of the contract value.

In which, the section from Km0+000 to Km0+800 and Km1+857 to Km3+620 and the section from Km8+200 to Km11+250, the construction unit has completed asphalt concrete paving, road painting, and signs.

The remaining section (from Km0+800 to Km1+857), because households have just handed over the construction site since the beginning of June 2024, the Management Board is currently directing the contractor to concentrate machinery and construction equipment, urgently construct the newly received site locations, striving to open to traffic by the end of June.

The Van Lam - Son Hai Road Project was approved by the Ninh Thuan Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 1029/QD-UBND dated June 7, 2021. The project has a total route length of 13.077 km passing through Phuoc Nam and Phuoc Dinh communes, Thuan Nam district; the total investment is more than 372 billion VND.

The project has a starting point connecting to National Highway 1A (at Km 1570+270), the end point connecting to the coastal road section Phu Tho - Mui Dinh (at Son Hai intersection, Phuoc Dinh commune).

After being put into operation, the Van Lam - Son Hai Road Project will be a driving force to promote the transportation of goods through connections with National Highway 1, the North-South railway and the North-South expressway; forming an inter-regional traffic network and opening up a new development direction for the southern economic region of Ninh Thuan province.

The Van Lam - Son Hai Road Project, together with the Road Project connecting Tan Son Town, Ninh Son District, Ninh Thuan Province to Ta Nang Crossroads, Duc Trong District, Lam Dong Province; the Road Project connecting the North - South Expressway with National Highway 1 and Ca Na General Seaport; and the Northern Ring Road Project are four key transport projects of Ninh Thuan Province invested by the Ninh Thuan Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board. These four projects are targeted to be completed and put into use in 2024.
