What is special about the 400 billion VND project to light up both banks of the Han River?

Regarding the River of Light project illuminating both banks of the Han River, at the press conference for the third quarter of 2023 (held yesterday, October 25), Mr. Phung Phu Phong, Director of the Department of Construction of Da Nang City, shared some notable contents.

According to Mr. Phong, the River of Light project aims to provide artistic lighting, connecting 5 bridges across the Han River.

Previously, Da Nang City had an artistic lighting program for the bridges, but after a long time the lighting system has degraded and is not synchronized.

With the synchronization of lighting for 5 bridges, Da Nang City will build a common automatic control center for 5 bridges, lighting both banks of the Han River, railings and even artistic lighting of the water surface.

"Currently, the Department of Construction has reported to the People's Committee of Da Nang City to submit the investment policy for this project, with a total investment of about 400 billion VND. The leaders of Da Nang City have directed to divide the investment into phases and implement the project as soon as possible. In particular, the artistic lighting for Nguyen Van Troi Bridge will be carried out by a famous lighting unit in the world," said Mr. Phong.

In addition to lighting up the bridges, the River of Light project will artistically illuminate the water surface of the Han River (Da Nang).

According to Mr. Phong, the project to illuminate both banks of the Han River will also artistically illuminate public works on both sides of the river and will be invested in phases.

The viewpoint of the People's Committee of Da Nang City is that high-rise buildings built on both sides of the Han River in the future must invest in artistic lighting, and must be strictly regulated in terms of urban lighting colors, especially at night.

Previously, the People's Committee of Da Nang City assigned the Department of Construction and related sectors to research and develop a lighting plan for both banks of the Han River and strengthen planning management; take measures to effectively manage and control lighting for riverside constructions and buildings, so as not to affect the landscape and general lighting effects for both banks of the Han River, the water surface and the bridges.

Notably, the People's Committee of Da Nang City directed the relevant departments to research and propose artistic lighting plans at some locations on Son Tra Peninsula to create highlights and unique features for Da Nang City.

The Management Board of Investment Projects for Construction of Civil and Industrial Works coordinates with the Department of Construction to carry out investment procedures to approve and implement the River of Light project for the two banks of the Han River, the water surface and the bridges in accordance with regulations; strives to complete phase 1 of the project in the first quarter of 2024.

In phase 1, the project will carry out lighting projects for 5 bridges across the Han River in the central area of ​​Da Nang City, including: Thuan Phuoc Bridge, Han River Bridge, Dragon Bridge, Nguyen Van Troi Bridge, and Tran Thi Ly Bridge.

The river of light will also illuminate both banks of the Han River along the embankment and railings of both banks from Thuan Phuoc Bridge to Nguyen Van Troi Bridge to create a highlight contributing to enhancing the value of the Han River landscape, attracting tourists to Da Nang City, especially at night.
