The Vietnam futsal team will participate in the 2024 Southeast Asian Futsal Championship in Thailand this November. Currently, the Vietnam futsal team has gathered to practice since October 10 to prepare for the tournament.

Coach Diego Raul Giustozzi assessed that Vietnamese players need to improve their scoring skills as well as their ability to handle individual situations on the field. The Vietnamese futsal team is focusing on overcoming their weaknesses before leaving for Thailand.

In the group stage, the Vietnam futsal team will be in the same group with Thailand, Malaysia, Brunei and Timor Leste. Although the Malaysian futsal team has made great progress, the Thai futsal team is still considered the most formidable opponent in the tournament.

In the group stage, the Vietnam futsal team's schedule is quite favorable when they meet their main competitor, the Thai futsal team, in the final match. Therefore, coach Giustozzi and his team will try to accumulate points when meeting Timor Leste, Malaysia and Brunei before the decisive match of the group.

According to the plan, the Vietnam futsal team will travel to Thailand for training on October 25. Coach Giustozzi and his team are expected to have two practice matches against Hongyen Thakam Club (Thailand) on October 27. This is the team that defeated Thai Son Nam Club with a score of 5-1 in the semi-finals of the 2023 Southeast Asian Futsal Club Championship. On October 29, the Vietnam futsal team will play a friendly match with the Australian futsal team.

Vietnam futsal team match schedule:

15:30 11/2 Vietnam – Timor Leste

15:30 11/4 Vietnam – Malaysia

15:30 11/5 Vietnam – Brunei

18:00 11/6 Vietnam – Thailand
