Drone sprays pesticides and gets stuck in power lines, 76,000 households in Long An lose power

On October 14, Tan Thanh District Police, Long An Province, coordinated with relevant agencies to temporarily detain a pesticide spraying drone that got stuck on a 110kV power line, causing power outages in many areas of the province.

According to initial information, at 5:00 p.m. on October 13, farmers used a drone to spray pesticides on a field in Tan Thanh town, Tan Thanh district. The drone got caught on a 110kV power line.

The incident interrupted power supply to more than 76,000 households in Tan Thanh, Moc Hoa, Vinh Hung, Tan Hung districts and Kien Tuong town.

According to Long An Province Electricity Company, after the incident occurred, this unit urgently fixed the problem. After more than 5 hours of handling, the entire affected area had electricity restored.

Since the beginning of the year, on the power grid managed by the Southern Power Corporation, there have been two power grid incidents related to flying devices violating safety distances.
