'Breaking into' the most magnificent volcanic cave in Southeast Asia in Dak Nong

Dak Nong owns the longest and most magnificent volcanic cave system in Southeast Asia. The volcanic system belongs to the Dak Nong UNESCO Global Geopark.

On December 26, Dak Nong province will receive the title of UNESCO Dak Nong Global Geopark for the second time. Previously, Dak Nong Geopark was recognized by UNESCO as a Global Geopark in July 2020.

The event affirmed the recognition of the efforts and determination of the entire political system and local people in building and developing the global geopark, contributing to positioning the province's tourism on the tourism map of Vietnam and the world.

According to scientists, Dak Nong Geopark covers an area of 4,760 ^km2 , including the districts of Krong No, Cu Jut, Dak Mil, Dak Song, Dak G'long and Gia Nghia City; there are about 65 geological and geomorphological heritage sites, including a system of nearly 50 caves with a total length of more than 10,000 m, craters, waterfalls, etc.

Notably, in the cave system of Dak Nong province, there is Cave C7. This volcanic cave is determined to be the longest in Southeast Asia, with a length of about 1,242m.

The caves in Dak Nong were formed from volcanic eruptions hundreds of millions of years ago. The traces of volcanic activity are shiny black basalt blocks and strange shapes. Inside the cave mouth, there are also ancient trees and abundant vines, creating a beautiful natural picture.

The further inside, the weaker the light becomes. Occasionally, rays of light pass through the gaps, creating magical lighting effects, creating a mysterious and magical feeling...
