From November 1, 2024, Dong Trieu officially becomes the 5th city under Quang Ninh province. Based on exploiting the potential, the locality focuses on researching, building and developing the night-time economy, aiming to extend the length of stay, increase the spending capacity of tourists, and create momentum for sustainable tourism development.
On the basis of promoting potentials, strengths, resources, The city has strongly attracted businesses to invest in synchronous infrastructure, services, and human resources to create attractive tourism products for the night-time economy in particular and the smokeless industry in general. Ms. Nguyen Thi Trang, Director of Quang Ninh Gate Tourist Area, said: Currently, the unit is speeding up the renovation of some areas to build tourism products to serve the development of the night economy. On that basis, many new tourism products are being built and deployed right in the tourist area such as walking streets, night markets, Health care with exercise courses, meditation, yoga, spa, outdoor music nights... to create impression, increase night service, extend stay.
Along with that, it is expected that by the end of this year, Dong Trieu Golf Course was put into operation with an area of 130 hectares, a total investment of 1,200 billion VND, including a 27-hole golf course according to international golf course criteria, serving about 800 guests/day. The golf course has low-rise accommodation buildings, high-rise hotels, golf courses, green infrastructure, landscapes, entertainment areas, and high-class ecological resort spaces. This is a new type of tourism identified as a driving force for the development of the night-time economy in Dong Trieu.
The city also focuses on developing existing tourism products in combination with investing in and building new, unique tourism products that attract tourists. The city is currently carefully preparing plans to launch and stimulate domestic and international tourism in line with the new normal; encouraging tourism resource surveys, creating new tourism products; focusing on completing transport, social and tourism infrastructure projects. At the same time, it is paying attention to planning and rearranging bar, dance hall and karaoke service establishments in the area to ensure sufficient operating conditions and granting business licenses according to regulations.
Along with that, propose incentives to attract businesses and individuals to invest in public cultural services, entertainment and recreation to ensure suitability. The city also studies planning and arranges land funds to invest in building a system of cinemas, theaters, and stages to perform live shows and programs recreating the culture and people of Dong Trieu to promote, introduce, and serve the needs of cultural enjoyment. At the same time, select appropriate types of performing arts to deploy at night, organize performances at appropriate frequencies, in which priority is given to selecting large-scale cultural and artistic performances that are rich in creativity, highly artistic, imbued with the traditional cultural identity of the region and the quintessence of world art, in accordance with Vietnamese customs and traditions.
The city reviews, evaluates, selects and gradually builds night tours (lasting up to 24 hours) combined with enjoying art programs by tram and bus in the area based on available tourism resources, new investments, exploiting artistic, cultural, historical values, natural landscapes, etc. To meet the shopping needs of the people, Dong Trieu is interested in developing chains of shopping, fashion and night-time dining stores in central areas of tourism development.
In order to attract tourists, the city has coordinated to research and build a tour to visit the Quynh Lam Pagoda - An Sinh Temple - Thai Mieu relic site - experience the lantern procession, incense offering at Ngoa Van Pagoda/Thai Mieu area or enjoy the show recreating "Dong A's heroic spirit", historical stories related to the Tran Dynasty at An Sinh Temple/Quynh Lam Pagoda combined with relaxation, experiencing night services at Quang Ninh Gate tourist site; visit and use services at Dong Trieu Golf Course, An Sinh Commune combined with relaxation, experiencing night services at Quang Ninh Gate tourist site; Visit Tan Viet Bac entertainment area - Dong Trieu Square - experience night services at Quang Ninh Gate tourist area... Notably, the city also plans to build a tour program "Trang Luong - cultural colors" with a schedule to experience the cultural space of the Tay people at Quang Ninh Gate tourist area combined with experiencing real activities with ethnic minorities in some villages of Trang Luong commune.
Mr. Phan Minh Hieu, Deputy Director of 188 Construction Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company, said: In order to develop the night economy, the unit is interested in diversifying products to attract people and tourists on the basis of exploiting the existing services of the enterprise from dining, entertainment for children, golf, swimming pool, multi-purpose house... The unit focuses on organizing weekly and monthly music nights with the participation of many famous singers in the province and the whole country, creating attractive entertainment spots for tourists, connecting destinations in the area, creating night tourism products, promoting the services of the unit in particular and Dong Trieu City in general.
