Dong Tien: People want to continue investing in production

Dong Tien Commune is a highland commune of Ham Thuan Bac district with a natural area of ​​11,446.11 hectares . Dong Tien has 2 villages, 4 hamlets , accounting for 95% of the Co Ho ethnic group and a few Rai, Cham, Kinh people. The commune has DT 714 route connecting Phan Thiet City - Binh Thuan and Bao Loc City - Lam Dong. The total number of households in the commune is 339 households/1,127 people; the number of poor and near-poor households in 2025 is 21 households; of which 10 are poor households; 11 are near-poor households.

According to the People's Committee of Dong Tien commune, the policy of supporting investment in production development and forest protection contracts in the area will be implemented from 2022 to 2024. The beneficiaries in 2022 will be 111 households/226.5 hectares with an investment value of VND 1,301,756,500; in 2023, investment was made for 100 households/228.6 hectares with an investment value of VND 1,264,916,000; in 2024, investment was made for 56 households/213.1 hectares with an investment value of VND 272,199,500. The advance investment is mainly for planting hybrid corn to serve the production and life of ethnic minority households in the commune, including investment costs for hybrid corn seeds, various fertilizers and pesticides. The Mountain Service Center in coordination with the district's professional agencies regularly organizes training sessions on corn planting and care techniques for the households that receive advance investment.

Dong Tien has no cases of debt at the store of the Mountainous Development Service Center. Net income per crop reaches 10 - 12 million VND, thanks to which the people's lives have gradually improved significantly.

At the field survey, Ms. Thanh Thi Ky said that through monitoring and surveying, the situation and results of the implementation of Resolution 18 will be assessed. From there, the results achieved, limitations, difficulties, obstacles and causes of the limitations and difficulties will be clearly pointed out, in order to propose and recommend solutions to overcome them. At the same time, the People's Council will have more grounds to consider continuing to implement this Resolution after the province's merger.
