I strongly believe and expect that the administrative unit merger will open up a new opportunity for Thanh Hoa City to make a strong breakthrough, soon becoming one of the top 5 provincial cities in the country as the set goal.”
Dong Tien village, Hoang Dai commune (Thanh Hoa city) held a conference to collect voters' opinions on merging Dong Son district into Thanh Hoa city and establishing Hoang Dai ward.
In Hoang Dai commune, a suburban commune of Thanh Hoa city, from early morning, people put aside their family work and went to Dong Tien village cultural house to exercise their sacred citizenship rights, sending their wishes and beliefs into each ballot. We are willing to join hands and unite with the local Party Committee and government to build Hoang Dai commune more and more prosperous”.

At the same time, 311 streets and villages in Thanh Hoa City simultaneously organized to collect voters' opinions on merging Dong Son district into Thanh Hoa City and establishing wards in Thanh Hoa City. To avoid errors, wards and communes have trained and provided professional guidance to members of the Voter Opinion Groups on how to distribute ballots, record ballots, collect ballots, count ballots, and summarize the results of the voter opinion survey. At the same time, documents for voter opinion collection were printed and posted at the ward People's Committee office and sent to residential groups to post at locations where voter opinion surveys were held.

Ms. Tran Thi Tuyet, Party Cell Secretary, Head of the Voter Opinion Gathering Team of Hiep Khoi Village, said: “Before the day of the conference to gather voters’ opinions, we carried out the preparation work seriously and methodically. From holding an expanded conference to deploy, to promoting propaganda, preparing the voter list, posting documents, time, place to gather voters’ opinions, counting votes, synthesizing, making minutes... With high determination, we have successfully completed the task with 759 voters on the list participating in the vote gathering (reaching 100%), of which up to 97.8% of voters approved the policy of merging Dong Son district into Thanh Hoa city and establishing wards under Thanh Hoa city”.
This is the first time voter Pham Thi Nhat Linh (18 years old) in Hiep Khoi village has held a ballot in her hand. She said: “Before going to the polling station, I had studied the Project to merge Dong Son district into Thanh Hoa city, but I still wanted to arrive early to feel the bustling atmosphere, and listen to more opinions from older voters to have a more realistic view of the project as well as the development of my locality in the future.”

Along with communes and towns in the district, 3,732 voters in Dong Nam commune (Dong Son) personally wrote ballots to implement the major policies of the Central and the province. Ms. Le Thi Gai in Phu Yen village said: "In addition to collecting opinions in a centralized manner, distributing ballots to each household to collect voters' opinions is a very effective and appropriate method. This method helps the elderly, the disabled, the sick... who cannot move around still exercise their rights and responsibilities as citizens."
There is a bit of regret that the name Dong Son district no longer exists, but Ms. Gai still believes that the place name Dong Son and Dong Son culture will not be lost, but will be maintained, preserved and promoted after the merger.

In order for the voter consultation to be successful, the Standing Committee of Dong Son District Party Committee assigned members of the Standing Committee in charge of clusters and members of the District Party Committee in charge of communes to attend and direct grassroots Party committees to organize the voter consultation according to plan.
