DTO - An impressive series of matches with consecutive victories has helped Dong Thap Club rise strongly in the relegation race. From a position close to the relegation group, the Lotus Country team has played convincingly and continuously advanced in the rankings.

When the 2024/2025 National First Division Football Tournament - Bia Sao Vang kicked off, Dong Thap Club was not highly regarded due to its limited squad, finances and the recent change in the coaching staff. Despite their efforts in the early stages of the season, the weakness of the Cao Lanh home team was the lack of stability in their performance, especially in away matches.
In particular, after the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday, Dong Thap Club has faced a difficult schedule when facing championship candidate teams such as Phu Dong Ninh Binh Club (away), Ba Ria - Vung Tau Club (home), PVF - CAND (away). Facing opponents with superior forces, it is not surprising that Dong Thap Club has continuously suffered defeats and fallen deep into crisis.
However, the turning point came to Dong Thap Club when the Board of Directors made clear personnel changes and tactical adjustments, which helped the team start playing more organized and sharper. The spirit of the players, especially the young faces, was confident and enthusiastic in playing together. With the improved performance of the whole team, Coach Phan Thanh Binh's team continuously achieved impressive results. In the last 3 matches, Dong Thap Club won many important points, especially against direct opponents in the relegation race such as Long An and Hue.
Most notably, the reception of Hue Club in round 15, on the afternoon of April 20 at Cao Lanh Stadium. Facing a direct competitor at the bottom of the table, Coach Phan Thanh Binh's students played explosively and won a resounding 3-0 victory with a "hat-trick" by striker Huu Khoi. In addition to the victory over Hue, in round 13 taking place on April 6, taking advantage of the home field, the players from the Lotus Land continued to play impressively when defeating Long An Club with a score of 2-0 thanks to goals by Tuan Em and Huu Khoi. In round 14 (April 13), Dong Thap Club visited Ho Chi Minh City Youth Club and returned with a regrettable 2-2 draw, in a match where they had the advantage when they took the lead twice.

Dong Thap FC is showing a clear improvement in its playing style, with the highlight being its ability to pass the ball effectively and develop the ball quickly in the midfield. The defense plays stably, and the attack knows how to take advantage of opportunities, which are the factors that have contributed to the recent successful streak. In addition to the collective strength, Dong Thap FC also possesses a few individuals with high performance.
Goalkeeper Thanh Nha made many spectacular saves and became a reliable stopper in goal; the midfielder duo Huu Thang - Long Hai helped the team control the midfield well; and striker Huu Khoi continuously scored goals to help Dong Thap Club win.
The series of positive results not only helped the Cao Lanh home team widen the gap with the bottom group, but also ended the previous unsatisfactory performance. At the same time, it created a mental boost for the upcoming challenging matches. Currently, Dong Thap Club has risen to 4th place with 16 points, creating an 8-point gap with the bottom team, Hue Club, while there are 6 rounds left in the season.
The road ahead is still full of difficulties when Dong Thap Club will have to face strong teams such as Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc, Phu Dong Ninh Binh or PVF-CAND. However, with the gap in points and the fighting spirit rising, Coach Phan Thanh Binh's team will be determined to accumulate more important points. The season has not ended, but Dong Thap Club is showing that they deserve to be given the opportunity to stay in the First Division next season. With impressive performance, the team of the Pink Lotus is getting closer and closer to the ticket to stay in the league.
