Dong Nai - Long Khanh City is the fruit capital of Dong Nai province, which is busy preparing for the ripest fruit season of the year. It is expected that this summer, Dong Nai will attract hundreds of thousands of tourists to visit and enjoy fruit right in the garden.
Dong Nai has over 76,000 hectares of fruit trees, including over 300 concentrated production areas. Fruits such as durian, rambutan, mangosteen... are the main local specialties. In particular, Long Khanh areas have delicious fruit quality that is known to many people. Thanks to this advantage, in the past 5 years, fruit garden ecotourism in Long Khanh City has developed strongly. Every year, during the peak fruit ripening season, Long Khanh City also organizes the Fruit Festival with a series of activities such as: Fruit stalls, introducing agricultural products from localities, children's painting contest, model orchards, beautiful fruit stalls, etc. The number of tourists visiting, shopping at the stalls and visiting the fruit gardens is estimated at thousands of people/day, and tens of thousands of visitors to the garden eco-tourism models in Binh Loc, Xuan Lap, Bao Quang, and Bao Vinh communes of Long Khanh City. Long Khanh City currently has about 20 orchards directly welcoming and serving tourists, such as: Ut Tieu, Hai Phuong, Tam Le, Chu Loc La, Chu Anh, Cau Dau Glamping... Each orchard will link up with a few to dozens of other orchards to create a tour with many orchards with many different types of fruit, creating diversity and appeal for tourists. For many years, garden ecotourism has become a sustainable development trend not only for the local tourism industry, but also aims to be a channel to promote and consume agricultural products for the people of Long Khanh City. In 2023, Long Khanh City will continue to be the host of the 2023 Dong Nai Province Fruit and OCOP Product Honor Week. According to the plan, the Fruit Honor Week will be held at Long Khanh Victory Beer Park. The Fruit Honor Week aims to promote trade promotion activities, connecting supply and demand for OCOP products through events: Exhibition fairs, honoring, promoting and introducing OCOP products and typical agricultural products, advantages of each locality to introduce to tourists inside and outside the province; Connecting garden eco-tourism in localities... Here, tourists visit fruit gardens in Long Khanh City, meeting the need for real-life experiences, picking fruits by hand, enjoying the flavors of rambutan, durian, mangosteen, strawberry, guava... and enjoying rustic dishes right at the gardens. Mr. Tran Quoc Phong, owner of Ut Tieu fruit garden (Binh Loc commune) said that this year's fruit season, Ut Tieu garden will link with 5 gardens with various types of fruit: rambutan, mangosteen, guava, jackfruit, durian... to serve tourists. Mr. Phong also invested in temporary huts so that tourists can eat and rest in the garden. Ms. Le Phung, a tourist from Xuan Loc district, Dong Nai province, said that during the fruit ripening season, she and many friends came to visit, take pictures and enjoy the fruit right in the garden. According to the reporter's records, many tourists from Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Binh Phuoc, Binh Duong... also come to experience eco-tourism in Long Khanh City with the desire to return to nature and eat Dong Nai's specialty fruits. Mr. Tran Van Loc, owner of Chu Loc La garden tourist site, said that this year's fruit season, he has partnered with more than 20 gardeners in the area to serve tourists. In addition, he has also invested in a multi-purpose garden that combines garden tours with additional activities such as bathing in natural streams, fishing, boating, etc. in ponds and streams.
