Dong Nai is about to have the first green industrial cluster

Quang Trung Industrial Park is a project that has been approved by the province in principle and decided to invest. The goal of this project is to develop agricultural processing and mechanical engineering industries to serve agricultural production. The project is expected to create new momentum for industrial development in Thong Nhat district, contributing to promoting the local economy and creating jobs for workers.

Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Dai Dung Construction and Trading Mechanical Joint Stock Company (investor) Trinh Tien Dung, when working with provincial leaders on April 16, shared that the company is ready with resources to start infrastructure construction in August 2025. It is expected that the infrastructure will be completed by June 2026 to welcome secondary investors.

According to Mr. Dung, the project is currently facing some difficulties that need support from the provincial departments and branches to resolve. Specifically, regarding land, since 2007, the company has been approved by the province for investment policy and at the same time approved the project investor with an area of ​​nearly 80 hectares. However, up to now, the company has only been allocated about 30 hectares of land, the rest the company has completed compensation in 2019 but has not yet had a land allocation decision, leading to not being able to apply for a construction permit and carry out the next steps. The total investment capital according to the decision to establish the industrial park issued in 2015 was 185 billion VND for technical infrastructure investment, which is no longer suitable.

The province prioritizes 4 industrial infrastructure projects to be implemented according to green and ecological criteria: Hang Gon Industrial Park, Hang Gon Industrial Cluster (Long Khanh city); Quang Trung Industrial Cluster and Quang Trung 2 Industrial Cluster (Thong Nhat district).

"We hope that the Provincial People's Committee will soon adjust the land area in the investment certificate issued in 2009, issue a decision to allocate 100% of the project's land area, and adjust the total investment capital in the decision on the establishment of the industrial park issued in 2015," Mr. Dung suggested.

Regarding this industrial park, Chairman of Thong Nhat District People's Committee Mai Van Hien said that recently, the locality has coordinated with provincial departments and branches to support investors in quickly completing legal procedures for implementation. In addition, the District People's Committee has worked with Dong Nai Rubber Corporation Limited Company on the liquidation of rubber trees. However, due to the lack of adjustment of the investment certificate to issue a land allocation decision, the liquidation of rubber trees and the implementation of technical infrastructure construction have not been carried out.

In the future, when the infrastructure construction is completed, the locality will coordinate with the provincial departments and branches to have specific solutions to attract investment in developing the agricultural processing industry in the area.

The province's first green industrial cluster

According to the investor, Quang Trung Industrial Park is a project designed, constructed, and operated according to green and ecological standards. Specifically, the industrial park meets the local requirements of relocating production facilities in residential areas, contributing to reducing environmental pollution in residential areas. Regarding internal infrastructure, the industrial park will utilize factory roofs to install solar panels to generate electricity; invest in infrastructure and technology to recycle wastewater; and encourage industrial symbiosis with waste. This is a key factor that helps Quang Trung Industrial Park become a safe and sustainable destination for investors. This also contributes to creating more jobs for workers, promoting local socio-economic development.

Thong Nhat district will have the first green, ecological industrial cluster in Dong Nai.

In the Dong Nai Province Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, Quang Trung Industrial Park is one of the industrial infrastructure projects selected to be implemented according to green and ecological criteria, aiming for the net zero goal. The industrial park is located next to National Highway 20, convenient for transportation and regional connectivity. This is one of the industrial parks in the strategy for developing processing, manufacturing and environmentally friendly industries.

Regarding this industrial park, recently, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Duong Minh Dung requested the Department of Industry and Trade and the Department of Finance to coordinate with the investor to review relevant documents and regulations, propose adjustments to the establishment decision and investment policy decision according to the actual total investment. Thong Nhat District added the project to the land use plan for 2025. The Department of Agriculture and Environment supported the investor to complete land allocation procedures. Dong Nai Rubber Corporation Limited Company quickly cut down rubber trees to make room for the investor.

For investors, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested to urgently complete the procedures for adjusting the investment certificate and submit them to the provincial departments and branches for appraisal before submitting them to the Provincial People's Committee. At the same time, investors must adjust the design and construction planning to suit the nature and standards of green industrial parks according to the province's general policy.

The implementation of infrastructure construction of this industrial park not only contributes to diversifying the local economic structure, but also promotes urbanization, improves infrastructure and public services. This is a concrete step in the sustainable development strategy, improving the quality of people's lives.
