Planning creates 5 breakthroughs
On September 24, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the conference to announce the planning and investment promotion of Dong Nai province in 2024 with the theme "connection - integration - take off".
The Prime Minister and his delegation attended the announcement ceremony of Dong Nai province's planning.
On July 3, 2024, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 586/QD-TTg approving the planning of Dong Nai province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.
According to the plan, the total natural area of the province is more than 5.8 thousand km2 with 11 administrative units including 2 cities (Bien Hoa and Long Khanh) and 9 districts (Tan Phu, Dinh Quan, Vinh Cuu, Thong Nhat, Xuan Loc, Cam My, Trang Bom, Long Thanh, Nhon Trach).
The provincial planning aims to make Dong Nai a civilized, modern, high-growth province by 2030, surpassing the high-income threshold in the top group of the country. With a vision to 2050, Dong Nai strives to become a centrally-governed city.
At the conference, Mr. Vo Tan Duc, Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee emphasized: this provincial planning combines 5 strategic breakthroughs: effectively exploiting Long Thanh International Airport; completing a synchronous and modern infrastructure framework; building green industrial parks, reducing carbon emissions, attracting investment in modern industrial projects with high added value; building a center for innovation, digital transformation, developing education and training complexes; implementing high-class urban, tourism and resort service projects.
The Prime Minister requested to focus on tasks implemented according to approved planning projects.
Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that when there is good planning, there will be good projects, good investors, and investment efficiency will be higher.
The Prime Minister requested Dong Nai province to closely follow policies and guidelines, and closely follow the actual situation of the locality for development.
"Putting people at the center of development, without sacrifice or trade-off. Planning must be consistent with the general development trend and go in the right direction," the Prime Minister emphasized.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh praised Dong Nai province for completing many of its set goals in recent years, especially in site clearance for major transport projects such as Long Thanh airport, Bien Hoa - Vung Tau, Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressways, and Ring Road 3...
The projects have been allocated investment capital by the Central Government, and are of great significance in the overall development planning of Dong Nai province in the coming period. Therefore, when put into operation, Dong Nai province must promote the advantages of Long Thanh - Bien Hoa - Tan Son Nhat airport and the expressway system to connect inter-regionally.
In socio-economic development, the Prime Minister requested Dong Nai to strengthen administrative reform, increase competitiveness indexes, create smart governance, and not cause trouble to the people. "Whoever is afraid of responsibility should stand aside," said the Prime Minister.
Enterprises accompanying Dong Nai development
Presenting at the conference, Ms. Le Nu Thuy Duong, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of KN Holdings Group, shared that this event not only marks a strategic development step for Dong Nai province but is also an opportunity for businesses and investors.
According to Ms. Duong, KN Holdings Group has been associated with Dong Nai province for nearly 25 years, and has accompanied the province's development in recent times. The unit has been focusing on investing in industrial park infrastructure, high-tech agriculture, and new urban areas.
"We are committed to mobilizing all resources to work with Dong Nai province to realize the goals set out in the provincial planning, contributing to building a sustainable and prosperous future," said Ms. Duong.
Awarding investment certificates to 17 projects
On this occasion, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province also granted decisions approving investors for 17 typical projects, with a total value of about 6 billion USD, including large-scale projects such as: Hiep Hoa Commercial Center (Bien Hoa City), Long Binh Tan Ward Social Housing (Bien Hoa City), Long Duc 3 Industrial Park (Long Thanh District), Phuoc An Social Housing Area (Nhon Trach District)...
Similarly, Mr. Vu The Phiet, Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), said that Long Thanh Airport Phase 1 is of great significance to the development and international competitiveness of Vietnam's aviation industry, making an important contribution to the socio-economic development of the country in general and Dong Nai in particular.
According to calculations, the direct contribution of Long Thanh airport to Vietnam's GDP in 2030 is about 0.98%, creating 200,000 jobs for the Dong Nai region. In particular, in 2026, when the project is put into operation, it will need more than 13,000 workers.
The project contributes to the transformation of the economic structure, increasing the proportion of the industrial and service sectors in the total value of social products (regional GDP) of the Southern key economic region in general. In particular, Dong Nai province is expected to directly contribute from 3 to 5% of the province's GDP.
Dong Nai is interested in investors who have been accompanying the locality.
In particular, according to Mr. Phiet, with the investment in Long Thanh airport, Dong Nai province plans to build a modern airport urban area that will greatly contribute to restructuring the workforce and improving the technical and technological level of the economy.
Long Thanh Airport will turn Dong Nai into an important aviation gateway, bringing international tourists to Vietnam, creating conditions for promotion and cultural exchange, contributing to improving the international competitiveness of Vietnamese tourism.
The Prime Minister congratulated enterprises receiving investment certificates in Dong Nai province.
The highlight of Dong Nai province's planning this time is the formation of 6 development corridors including: Dong Nai river corridor; Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway - National Highway 51; Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Phan Thiet expressway; National Highway 1 and North - South railway; National Highway 20 - Dau Giay - Tan Phu expressway; Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway.
Three development belts include: Ho Chi Minh City belt 4; National Highway 56 - Provincial Road 762 belt; Dong Nai - Ba Ria - Vung Tau connecting belt.
Long Thanh Airport is one of the highlights of Dong Nai province in the provincial planning project to 2030, vision to 2050.
The plan also identifies breakthrough tasks for the province from now until 2050, including the important task of effectively exploiting Long Thanh International Airport and implementing the Bien Hoa dual-use airport project associated with the airport urban model.
Dong Nai clings to traffic corridors and belts for development.
Basically complete the framework of synchronous, modern, smart, climate change-adaptive infrastructure. Focus on transport infrastructure, irrigation, urban, energy infrastructure, digital infrastructure, healthcare infrastructure, education, and social security.
