According to the proposed plan, Dong Nai province will reduce more than 100 wards and communes after the rearrangement, from 159 communes, wards and towns to 55 communes and wards.
Specifically, Bien Hoa City with 24 wards and 1 commune will be reduced to 9 administrative units of the same level after the arrangement, including Bien Hoa, Tran Bien, Tam Hiep, Long Binh, Trang Dai, Ho Nai, Long Hung, Phuoc Tan, Tam Phuoc wards. In which, Trang Dai ward will merge with Thien Tan commune, Vinh Cuu district.
The four wards located along the Dong Nai River, bordering Binh Duong Province and Ho Chi Minh City, namely Tan Hanh, Hoa An, Buu Hoa and Tan Van, will become one ward with the tentative name of Bien Hoa Ward. Meanwhile, the six central wards of Bien Hoa City, namely Buu Long, Quang Vinh, Trung Dung, Thong Nhat, Hiep Hoa and An Binh, will form a “super ward” with a population of nearly 200,000 people with the tentative name of Tran Bien Ward.
To ensure the implementation of the process of organizing the collection of voters' opinions on the Project on the arrangement and merger of administrative units, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Nai province requested the People's Committees of districts, cities, communes, wards and towns on the basis of the Project on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Dong Nai province in 2025 and the Project on the arrangement and merger of Binh Phuoc province with Dong Nai province to direct the organization of the collection of people's opinions and organize meetings of People's Councils at commune and district levels in the area.
At the same time, direct the People's Committees of communes, wards and towns to organize the collection of voters' opinions and synthesize the results of the collection of voters' opinions to the People's Committees of districts and cities for synthesis and reporting to the Provincial People's Committee. Direct the People's Committees at the commune level to report to the Standing Committee of the People's Council at the same level to organize a People's Council meeting to approve the policy of arranging commune-level administrative units of Dong Nai province in 2025 and the policy of arranging and merging administrative units of Binh Phuoc province with Dong Nai province.
As planned, the People's Council of Dong Nai province (10th tenure) will hold a thematic session on April 29 to review and approve a number of thematic resolutions as a basis for adjusting State management at the local level.
