Energizing the project to renovate, expand and increase the capacity of the 110kV Ham Tan transformer station, Binh Thuan province

At 2:30 p.m. on April 19, 2025, Binh Thuan Power Company coordinated with the Southern Power Grid Project Management Board under the Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC) and the construction contractor and related units to successfully energize the project "Renovation, expansion, and capacity increase of Ham Tan 110kV transformer station (existing 2 x 40 MVA), Binh Thuan province".

This project is located in the premises of Ham Tan 110kV Transformer Station, La Gi Town, Binh Thuan Province with a total investment of more than 51.4 billion VND. The design scale includes 2 transformers with a capacity of 2x40MVA, and after completion will be upgraded to 2x63MVA. The project is equipped with a communication system, remote control (SCADA ) , as well as a computer control system (HMI), to meet the needs of data collection and monitoring, thereby achieving the goal of centralized management and automation of the electricity industry.

The project aims to ensure safe, flexible and continuous power supply for areas such as La Gi town, Ham Tan district, Tan Duc Industrial Park, while increasing power backup for neighboring areas; improving reliability in the operation of unmanned transformer stations, which will also promote the socio-economic development of La Gi town and Ham Tan district, Binh Thuan province.

During the construction process, the investor received strong direction from the People's Committee of Binh Thuan province and active support from the People's Committee of Ham Tan district; along with the efforts of Binh Thuan Power Company and the coordination of EVNSPC's professional departments and related units such as the Southern Power Grid Project Management Board, Southern Power Consulting Company, Viet Energy Construction Trading Service Company Limited, Southern Power Testing Company and Southern Power System Dispatch Center.

This project also demonstrates the determination of the staff in responding to the 90-day sprint emulation movement to "Complete the energization of 50 110kV power grid projects" on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of EVNSPC's establishment "Building - Developing - Lighting up trust" (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
