In his opening remarks, Comrade Nguyen Quy Trong, Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association and Editor-in-Chief of Hai Duong Newspaper, emphasized that the 9th Congress of the Provincial Journalists Association for the 2023-2028 term is taking place in the context that Party committees at all levels in the province have just completed the mid-term review of the implementation of the Resolutions of the Party Congresses at all levels and the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.
The Congress also took place against the backdrop of a rapidly changing and unpredictable global and domestic situation. The powerful impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution has presented the press in general, and journalists in particular, with opportunities and advantages, but also many difficulties and challenges.

This Congress of the Hai Duong Provincial Journalists Association has a very heavy task. It is to assess the state of journalistic activities in the province over the past five years, especially to evaluate the results of implementing the Resolution of the 8th Congress of the Hai Duong Provincial Journalists Association for the 2018-2023 term. The Congress will focus on discussing, developing, and finalizing the political report of the 8th Executive Committee, to be presented to the Congress, as well as other documents.
The Chairman of the Hai Duong Provincial Journalists Association urged delegates to work with focus and seriousness, leveraging collective intelligence and contributing heartfelt and valuable opinions to build and refine feasible goals and targets for the new term. He also called for a democratic, fair, and objective election of journalists with the qualities, capabilities, prestige, resources, and dedication to the movement to lead the association's work in the coming term.
At its first session, the 9th Congress of the Hai Duong Provincial Journalists Association addressed several important issues, including electing the Presidium and Secretariat; approving the agenda for the first session, the regulations and rules of the congress; and electing the membership credentials committee.

The Congress heard the review report of the Executive Committee of the Provincial Journalists Association, 8th term, 2018-2023; and the draft report on inspection work for the 2018-2023 term.
At the congress, three delegates representing the branches under the Hai Duong Provincial Journalists Association presented papers, sharing some outstanding activities, good experiences, and effective practices of their units; they also proposed and suggested many new contents, issues, and approaches to help the Provincial Journalists Association achieve even more results in the next term.
At the first working session, with a spirit of focus, democracy, and high responsibility, the delegates voted to elect the Executive Committee of the Hai Duong Provincial Journalists Association for the 2023-2028 term, consisting of 9 members; and elected the Association's Inspection Committee, consisting of 3 members who met the set standards and requirements.

Immediately after the congress concluded its afternoon session on November 2nd, the Executive Committee of the Provincial Journalists Association, 9th term (2023-2028), held its first meeting to elect the President, Vice Presidents, and Head of the Inspection Committee of the association.
Accordingly, Comrade Vu Van Uy, Vice Chairman in charge of the Hai Duong Provincial Journalists Association, 8th term, was elected to the position of Chairman of the Hai Duong Provincial Journalists Association, 9th term, 2023-2028.
Comrades Dang Dinh Long, Deputy Director of the Provincial Radio and Television Station, and Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Hai Duong Newspaper, were elected as Vice Presidents of the Association for the 9th term. The official session of the 9th Congress of the Hai Duong Provincial Journalists Association for the 2023-2028 term is scheduled to take place on the morning of November 3rd, with many important contents such as: approving the political report of the Executive Committee of the 8th term (2018-2023); reporting the results of the election of the Executive Committee and key positions of the 9th term of the Provincial Journalists Association; introducing the new Executive Committee; awarding certificates of merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements; and approving the Congress Resolution…
