On the afternoon of November 9, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, and Provincial National Assembly Delegate attended the "National Great Unity in Residential Areas" Festival in conjunction with the "Military-Civilian Culture" Festival with the people of Ban Sen Commune (Van Don). Also attending were comrades: Vu Dai Thang, Party Central Committee member, Provincial Party Secretary; Trinh Thi Minh Thanh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; members of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, leaders of departments, branches, and the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group.
Ban Sen is an island commune with 3 villages, including: Na San, Dong Linh and Dien Xa. The commune has 334 households, over 1,200 people with 8 ethnic groups living together. In recent years, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations in the commune have actively participated in mobilizing people to build a cultural life in residential areas; regularly propagandizing and mobilizing people to comply with the Party's policies and guidelines, the State's laws, local regulations, village conventions and community conventions. From then on, by the end of 2023, the commune will have 3/3 villages achieving cultural villages, 95.5% of households will be cultural, and the commune will have no poor or near-poor households.
In the joyful and exciting atmosphere of the festival, the delegates together reviewed the tradition of the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army, and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day. 2024 is the first year that Quang Ninh organizes the national great unity festival in residential areas in conjunction with the military-civilian cultural festival. This is a unique initiative of Quang Ninh to continue to strengthen the solidarity and the close bond between the military and the people, which is a very important foundation in building and consolidating the national defense posture associated with a solid people's security posture.
Sharing the joy with the people of Ban Sen commune, comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, affirmed that this is a festival, a special event for the people of Ban Sen commune. The organization of the "National Great Unity Day in Residential Areas" Festival in conjunction with the "Military-Civilian Culture" Festival in Quang Ninh is an activity to concretize the Party and State's policy in building a great national unity bloc in conjunction with the movement of the entire people to protect national security, building a national defense posture. The comrade emphasized that for a special island commune like Ban Sen, the achievements in socio-economic development in the area have important contributions from the armed forces units stationed in the area. Especially in the work of overcoming the consequences of the recent storm No. 3, it once again demonstrated the strength of the great national unity bloc, in which the military and police forces play a very important role.
He also hoped that in the coming time, Ban Sen commune would continue to consolidate and promote the strength of the great national unity bloc; and implement patriotic emulation movements more effectively. The people, together with the military and police forces, would participate in maintaining political security, social order and safety in the area, and keeping the area free of drugs.
He also suggested that in the coming time, the Fatherland Front of Ban Sen commune continue to promote its role as a representative body, protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the people; gather and promote the strength of great national unity, actively participate in building the Party and government at the grassroots level, thereby contributing to Ban Sen commune achieving even stronger development steps.
On this occasion, comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang and delegates from the Central, provincial and district levels presented flowers of congratulations, presented funds to the military and people of Ban Sen commune to support investment in lighting projects; and presented gifts to outstanding households, policy families and disadvantaged households in the commune.
