On the afternoon of November 9th, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang, Member of the Political Bureau, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Political Academy, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, and National Assembly Delegate of the province, attended the "National Unity Day in Residential Areas" combined with the "Military-Civilian Culture Day" with the people of Ban Sen commune (Van Don district). Also present were Comrades Vu Dai Thang, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Trinh Thi Minh Thanh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, leaders of departments and agencies, and the Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industry Group.

Ban Sen is an island commune with 3 hamlets: Na San, Dong Linh, and Dien Xa. The commune has 334 households and over 1,200 inhabitants from 8 ethnic groups. Over the years, the Fatherland Front and political and social organizations in the commune have actively participated in mobilizing the people to build a cultural life in residential areas; regularly disseminating information and encouraging people to comply with the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws, local regulations, and community customs and conventions. As a result, by the end of 2023, all 3 hamlets in the commune had achieved the status of "cultural hamlet," 95.5% of households were recognized as "cultural households," and the commune no longer had any poor or near-poor households.

In the joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere of the festival, delegates reviewed the traditions of the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army, and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day. 2024 marks the first time Quang Ninh has organized the National Unity Day in residential areas, combined with the military-civilian cultural festival. This is a unique initiative of Quang Ninh aimed at further strengthening the solidarity and close bond between the military and the people, a crucial foundation in building and consolidating a strong national defense posture linked to a robust people's security posture.

Sharing in the joy with the people of Ban Sen commune, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang, Member of the Political Bureau, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Political Academy, and Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, affirmed that this is a festival, a special event for the people of Ban Sen commune. Organizing the "National Unity Day in Residential Areas" in conjunction with the "Military-Civilian Culture Day" in Quang Ninh is an activity aimed at concretizing the Party and State's policy on building national unity in conjunction with the nationwide movement to protect national security and build a national defense posture. He emphasized that for a unique island commune like Ban Sen, the achievements in socio-economic development have been significantly contributed to by the armed forces units stationed in the area. Particularly in the efforts to mitigate the consequences of Typhoon No. 3, the strength of national unity, including the crucial role of the military and police forces, has once again been demonstrated.


The comrade also expressed his hope that in the coming time, Ban Sen commune will continue to consolidate and further promote the strength of the great national unity; implement patriotic emulation movements more effectively. The people, together with the army and police forces, will participate in maintaining political security and social order in the area, and keeping the area free from drugs.


The comrade also suggested that in the coming time, the Fatherland Front of Ban Sen commune should continue to promote its role as a representative body protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the people; gather and promote the strength of national unity, actively participate in building the Party and government at the grassroots level, thereby contributing to Ban Sen commune achieving even stronger development.

On this occasion, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang, along with delegates from the Central, provincial, and district levels, presented flowers to congratulate and donated funds to support the investment in lighting projects in Ban Sen commune; and presented gifts to exemplary households, policy beneficiary families, and disadvantaged households in the commune.
