In the face of the complicated developments of storm No. 2, on the morning of July 23, comrade Nguyen Xuan Ky, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council directly inspected the work of overcoming the effects of storm No. 2 in Ha Long city. Accompanying him were comrade Vu Quyet Tien, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Ha Long City Party Committee, and leaders of relevant departments and branches.
Comrade Nguyen Xuan Ky, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council inspected the residential area at risk of landslides in Group 2, Area 7A, Hong Hai Ward, Ha Long City. Currently, this area has 17 households, of which 5 households live there regularly. Given the complicated developments of storm No. 2, the city has directed the People's Committee of Hong Hai Ward to relocate these 5 households to a safe place. Also according to the city's report, the city has come up with a specific plan to relocate 17 households in Group 2, Area 7A, Hong Hai Ward. It is expected that this area will be renovated to create a green area to protect the environment.
After the inspection, the Provincial Party Secretary and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council requested Ha Long City to completely relocate the remaining households living in this area to ensure a stable life for the households. The city must also have a plan to resettle these households to new places that are better than the old places, absolutely not allowing the situation where people in the central area of the city have to live in unsafe conditions as well as not ensuring the living environment. Thereby, creating the highest consensus among the people and the surrounding community. At the same time, survey and re-evaluate the entire status of the flood drainage basin in this area to have a timely response and handling plan when there is heavy rain as well as ensuring the safety of households living near that area.
Inspecting some traffic routes in the city with fallen trees due to the impact of the storm, the Provincial Party Secretary and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council requested that along with cleaning up and ensuring traffic after the storm, in the long term, the city must also calculate and have a plan to renovate the urban tree system, ensuring to minimize damage when there are storms.
Faced with the complicated weather situation, the Provincial Party Secretary and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council also requested the city to continue to proactively respond according to the motto "3 before, 4 on-site", promptly handling arising situations.
