Dong Anh: Celebrating the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of National Defense Day

On December 16, Dong Anh district held a ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of National Defense Day.

According to Vice Chairwoman of Dong Anh District People's Committee Nguyen Thi Tam, today's celebration aims to review the nation's tradition of fighting to defend the country, the results of 35 years of implementing the National Defense Day and the glorious history of 80 years of building, fighting, winning, and growing of the Army, the Capital's Armed Forces and the image and noble qualities of "Uncle Ho's Soldiers", thereby educating the ideology and tradition of patriotism for generations, especially the young generation of Dong Anh. Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Nguyen Khe Commune To Duc Hieu shared that through the celebration, looking back at the heroic history of the Vietnam Army, the qualities of Uncle Ho's Soldiers have been proven through the thinking, awareness, and practical activities of the struggle for national liberation as well as in the current construction and protection of the Fatherland, clearly demonstrating the political mettle, ethics, lifestyle, intelligence, responsibility, and enthusiasm in all conditions and circumstances of generations of cadres and soldiers of our army.

Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Dong Anh District Le Trung Kien respectfully remembered and expressed his infinite gratitude to the heroic martyrs, compatriots and comrades who fought bravely and sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for the happiness of the people. Secretary of the Dong Anh District Party Committee Le Trung Kien affirmed that the Party, the State and the people have full trust in the Vietnam People's Army, in the strength of the all-people national defense. Regardless of the conditions and circumstances, the Party, the State and the political system always take care of consolidating national defense, building a strong people's armed forces, contributing to the successful implementation of the cause of building and firmly defending the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam. Secretary of the Dong Anh District Party Committee Le Trung Kien believes that, under the glorious flag of the Party, with the invincible strength from the people, with the glorious tradition of the nation, the Vietnam People's Army will excellently fulfill all tasks assigned by the Party and the people; established many new feats and achievements, actively contributing to the cause of building Vietnam into a "rich people, strong country, democracy, equality, civilization", firmly protecting the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.

On this occasion, the People's Committee of Dong Anh district awarded 30 collectives and 30 individuals with outstanding achievements in performing national defense tasks and building national defense.
