At 9:30 a.m. on April 13, Pu Nhi Border Guard Station, Thanh Hoa Provincial Border Guard received a report of a fire at the house of Mr. Thao Van Va, born in 1996, in Pa Hoc village, Nhi Son commune. Immediately after that, the unit sent officers and soldiers to quickly coordinate with forces from Nhi Son commune, Muong Lat district, Thanh Hoa province and people in Pa Hoc village to approach the location and promptly extinguish the fire.

However, due to the rapid spread of the fire, combined with flammable materials, the large house was almost completely burned down. The fire caused Thao Y Hoa, born in 2021, Va's child, to suffer severe burns on her left arm and left leg. Her family took her to Muong Lat Hospital for first aid. The estimated damage was about 150 million VND.

It is known that on the same day, the unit commander and Nhi Son commune leaders visited, encouraged, supported with rice, some daily necessities and 10 million VND to the family.
