“For India, one Earth, one family, one future is one commitment,” Prime Minister Modi was quoted by Indian news agency ANI as saying. This is also reflected in New Delhi’s initiatives such as “One Earth, One Health” and “One Sun, One World, One Grid.”
Accordingly, India will continue to strive in thought, word and deed to safeguard the interests of all humanity and for global prosperity.
Also calling for balanced regulation at the global level for the safe and responsible use of technology, the leader stated: “We need global digital governance that ensures the preservation of national sovereignty and integrity. Digital public infrastructure must be a bridge, not a barrier.”
The Indian Prime Minister also urged reform of global institutions and saw reform as key to relevance.
Referring to addressing the issue of terrorism or emerging new "battlefields" such as cyber, maritime and space, Mr. Modi emphasized the need to ensure that "global action must match global ambition."
Also on September 23, Prime Minister Modi met the Indian community in New York, in which he said: "India is emerging as a new catalyst globally and its influence will be felt across all sectors."
Accordingly, India's partnerships are expanding globally and it is pursuing a foreign policy of "Equal Proximity", with a priority on increasing influence rather than imposing dominance.
“We are also becoming a strong voice for the Global South… Today, when India speaks on the global stage, the world listens,” the leader said.
