Vietnam team ranked 94th, maintaining top 15 in Asia; Malaysia increased 7 places

On the afternoon of November 30, the World Football Federation (FIFA) announced the rankings of national teams in November 2023.

Accordingly, the Vietnamese team was only deducted a total of 0.67 points after winning 2-0 against the Philippines and losing 0-1 to Iraq in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in Asia, still maintaining its 94th position in the world.

This is contrary to the initial prediction of Footy Rankings . Because according to Footy Rankings' calculations not long ago, coach Philippe Troussier and his team were down one place.

The Vietnamese team currently has 1,235.58 points, continuing to lead Southeast Asia, maintaining its position in the top 15 in Asia.

Also in the ASEAN region, the Malaysian team is the most advanced team.

With two victories in the second qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup in Asia (winning 4-3 over Kyrgyzstan and 1-0 over Taiwan (China), the "Malaysian Tigers" were awarded 26.15 points by FIFA, rising 7 places to rank 130. Malaysia is also the only team promoted in Southeast Asia.

The Thai team lost one match (1-2 against China) and won one match (3-1 against Singapore), was deducted a total of 0.4 points and fell from 112th to 113th place.

In Asia, the number one position still belongs to Japan, the "Samurai Blue" rose one place to rank 17th in the world. Also in the top 10 in the world's most populous continent, except for Iran which remained stagnant and Oman which fell one place, all teams rose in rank.

Meanwhile, reigning World Cup champions Argentina still reign at the top of the FIFA rankings, with France right behind. England, Belgium and the Netherlands all moved up, while Brazil and Portugal dropped in the rankings.
