The 16 teams from the 4 seed groups will be drawn into 4 groups (A, B, C, D), each group with 4 teams. The draw will be conducted in order from group 4 to group 1. Host Thailand is assigned code 1 in group A (A1). Therefore, the teams Japan, Iran, Uzbekistan will be drawn into positions B1, C1, D1.
Vietnam team is in seed group number 2
The 2024 AFC Futsal Championship will take place in Thailand from April 17 to April 28, 2024. In the group stage, teams will compete in a round-robin format to determine rankings. The first and second teams in each group (8 teams) will qualify for the quarter-finals.
The four winning teams in the quarter-finals will advance to the semi-finals, to find the two strongest teams to compete in the final match for the championship. In addition, the four teams participating in the semi-finals of the 2024 Asian Futsal Championship will also win tickets to the 2024 Futsal World Cup Finals.
Vietnam team aims to be present at the Futsal World Cup finals for the third time
As Uzbekistan is the host of the 2024 Futsal World Cup, if the national team is in the top 4 teams with the best results at the 2024 AFC Futsal Championship, the 4 losing teams in the quarter-finals will compete in the play-off round to determine the 5th Asian spot to participate in the world's largest futsal playground.
The Vietnamese team has qualified for the 2024 AFC Futsal Championship as the top team in Group D, with a record of 3 wins against Korea, Mongolia and Nepal in the qualifying round. The goal of the team led by coach Diego Giustozzi at the 2024 AFC Futsal Championship is to compete for a ticket to the Futsal World Cup for the third time in history.
