At 8:30 a.m. on November 27, the Vietnamese team entered the opening friendly match of their training trip in Korea. Coach Kim Sang-sik and his team faced Ulsan Citizen, a team playing in the K-League 3.
Against a weaker opponent, Mr. Kim deployed his strongest force, mixed with reserve players and rookies. But no matter what formation he played, the players were eager to perform and followed the tactics well.

The Vietnamese team controlled the game and led 1-0 in the first half thanks to a goal by Nguyen Tien Linh. Starting from an attack on the right wing, Truong Tien Anh flipped the ball inside for Bui Hoang Viet Anh to head the ball high. Tien Linh appeared at the right time, seized the opportunity to score a goal against Ulsan Citizen. The first half was also the half in which Tien Linh was assigned the role of leading the attack.
In the second half, the Vietnamese team sent "group 2" onto the field and continued to dominate Ulsan Citizen. Coach Kim Sang-sik's students scored another goal thanks to Pham Tuan Hai. This was Tuan Hai's first goal in 5 months for the national team, since his goal against Iraq in the second qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup.
In the end, the Vietnamese team won Ulsan Citizen with a score of 2-0. This was a favorable start for coach Kim Sang-sik and his team in Korea.
At 12 noon on November 29, the Vietnamese team will face Daegu FC. On December 1, Nguyen Quang Hai and his teammates will face Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors.
