The 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers, phase 3, have 24 participating teams. These are the teams that did not pass the second qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup in Asia. The teams are divided into 6 groups, each group has 4 teams. Teams in the same seed group will not meet each other. Therefore, the Vietnamese team will not be in the same group with Thailand or any team in group 1.

The 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers will begin in March 2025 and run through March 2026, with only the group winners qualifying for the finals of the Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia.

The draw for the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers took place on December 9. That is also the day the Vietnamese team begins competing in the 2024 AFF Cup (ASEAN Cup). Coach Kim Sang-sik and his team will meet Laos away, then face Indonesia (home), the Philippines (away) and Myanmar (home).
