With the above developments, Group C of the 2023 Asian Games men's football only has Uzbekistan Olympic and Hong Kong Olympic (China) remaining. Accordingly, these two teams automatically won tickets to the knockout round even though the tournament has not taken place yet.

Syria and Afghanistan withdrew from men's football, increasing the chances of teams, including Vietnam Olympic, advancing.

According to the competition format, in addition to the first and second place teams in each group, the four third-placed teams with the best results will advance to the round of 16.

Thus, if they win against Mongolia in the opening match and get 1 point in the remaining matches in the group stage, coach Hoang Anh Tuan and his team will have a great chance to win a ticket to the next round.

At ASIAD 2023, the Vietnamese Olympic team is in Group B with very strong opponents including Saudi Arabia, Iran and Mongolia.

In the opening match, coach Hoang Anh Tuan and his team will face Mongolia on September 19, Iran on September 21 before playing the final group stage match against Saudi Arabia on September 24.

The Vietnam Olympic team will have one more training session to complete the final preparations before officially competing at the 2023 ASIAD.
