The Vietnamese women's sepak takraw team performed excellently to defeat Indonesia in the final of the women's four-person sepak takraw event, thereby winning the gold medal at ASIAD 19.

In the final match, the Vietnamese sepak takraw team started confidently but allowed their opponents to take the lead and win the first set 21-18.
In set 2, the Vietnamese sepak takraw girls played better to create a lead, but Indonesia narrowed the gap, leveling the score at 15-15 and then 18-18.
However, at a crucial moment, the Vietnamese sepak takraw team played calmly to score 3 consecutive points, thereby winning 21-18 and forcing their opponents into a third set.
In the deciding set, despite falling behind, the Vietnamese women's team remained calm to equalize at 7-7, then fought back to take the lead with a margin of 11-7.
With this advantage, the Vietnamese women's sepak takraw team maintained their lead before the end of the set with a score of 21-14, thus winning the match and securing the prestigious gold medal.
This is also the second gold medal that the Vietnamese sports delegation has won at the 2023 Asian Games.
Earlier, shooter Pham Quang Huy was the athlete who brought home the first gold medal for the Vietnamese sports delegation when he won the final of the men's 10m air pistol individual event.
In this event, Vietnamese shooter Pham Quang Huy performed excellently to secure first place with 240.5 points, 1.1 points ahead of second-place South Korean shooter Lee Wonho.
With this result, the Vietnamese sports delegation has won a total of 19 medals at ASIAD 19, including 2 gold medals, 3 silver medals, and 14 bronze medals.
This achievement propelled the Vietnamese delegation from 20th to 17th place in the overall medal standings of ASIAD 19.
