On the morning of August 31, the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) officially confirmed that Vietnam is the last team to win a ticket to the FIVB World Championship 2025.

The reason for the decision to award a spot to Vietnam is because Thailand was chosen as the host country for this tournament, so a team ranked 33rd in the world was promoted to participate.

Also on the morning of August 31, a representative of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation responded to FIVB's invitation, confirming participation in the tournament taking place in Thailand in 2025.

In the coming time, the Vietnam Volleyball Federation will do some procedures and make plans so that coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team can have the best preparation for the tournament.

The 2025 Volleyball World Cup will take place from August 22 to September 7, with the participation of 32 of the world's top teams. Of these, 16 teams include the defending champion (Serbia) and 15 teams with high rankings in continental championships (three leading teams from each continent).

The remaining 16 teams will include one spot for host Thailand and the 15 highest-ranked teams in the world rankings that are not in the group of 16 mentioned above. Vietnam was promoted to participate in the tournament due to its high ranking and especially having won fourth place at the 2023 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship.

This is very good news for the Vietnamese women's volleyball team. After the FIVB World Club Championship 2023, Vietnamese volleyball will continue to participate in a world-level tournament.

However, the scale of the FIVB World Championship 2025 is much larger because 32 of the world's top teams compete, bringing together most of the world's top athletes.

The FIVB World Championship and the Olympics are considered the two most prestigious tournaments, where any athlete who enters the field is eager to win. This is the honor and pride of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team.

Over the past 2 years, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team has continuously achieved achievements in the continental and even world arenas. Notably, in 2023, the Vietnamese girls won the Asian Women's Club Championship, won the AVC Challenger Cup to qualify for the 2 world arenas FIVB Challenge Cup and FIVB Women's Club World Championship, ranked 4th in the Asian Championship, ranked 4th in the 19th Asian Games, and silver medal in the 32nd SEA Games.

Entering 2024, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy and her teammates won the SEA V-League runner-up position twice, especially the bronze medal at the FIVB Challenger Cup 2024. Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team caused a big shock when they defeated Belgium (ranked 13th) at the FIVB Challenger Cup 2024.

Previously, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team won the AVC Challenge Cup 2024 in May 2024, thereby receiving a spot as Asia's representative to attend the FIVB Challenger Cup 2024. With these achievements, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team once rose to 32nd place in the world.

Currently, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team are participating in the VTV Cup 2024 international women's volleyball tournament in Ninh Binh. With a convincing 3-0 defeat of Express Club (Korea) in the semi-finals, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team entered the VTV Cup 2024 final to face a very strong opponent, Korabelka Club (Russia) at 7:00 p.m. at Ninh Binh Stadium.
