Vietnam women's volleyball team faces big challenge in China

On December 11, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team (Sport Center 1) arrived in Hangzhou, China to prepare for the 2023 World Club Championship. As soon as they set foot on foreign land, the Vietnamese girls had to face difficulties in terms of climate.

The outdoor temperature in Hangzhou (China) this season is always below 10 degrees Celsius. This is the first challenge that coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team has to face during the competition at the 2023 World Club Championship. The sudden change in climate makes it difficult for the members of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team to adapt, when the temperature in the North (the team trained in Bac Ninh for 2 weeks) is above 20 degrees Celsius. In the face of cold weather, the players need to keep their bodies warm to ensure the best health when entering the tournament.

Not only facing difficulties with the weather, Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet is also worried about the team's personnel. Many faces on the attacking line of Sport Center 1 are not in the best physical condition. Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh has returned to light training with the team. However, the "beauty" volleyball player from Quang Binh will likely not be able to compete because her injury has not fully recovered. The coaching staff will not dare to risk putting the 2001-born setter on the field, because this could make her injury worse.

Meanwhile, main striker Tran Tu Linh suffered a knee injury and recovered before the team left for China. However, the 1999-born player is still not in the best physical condition and his ability to play is still uncertain.

Badminton player Kieu Trinh can practice but most likely cannot compete.

Previously, main striker Tran Thi Thanh Thuy was absent because she was busy serving the PFU Blue Cats Club. Up to now, the remaining scoring positions expected to replace Thanh Thuy have also continuously encountered health problems.

Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his students will have to face very strong opponents at the 2023 World Club Championship. According to the draw results, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team, called Sport Center 1 Club, is in the same group with VakifBank SK (Türkiye) and Dentil Praia Clube (Brazil).
