Having pursued his passion for football for nearly 50 years, Mr. Cao Minh Si (65 years old, residing in Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City) may no longer have the strength to play on the field, but he still follows all the major and minor matches in the city.
From videos on the Thanh Nien Newspaper YouTube channel, he learned about the Vietnam Youth and Student Football Tournament and rode his motorbike alone from Thu Duc City to Ton Duc Thang University Stadium (Ho Chi Minh City) to watch all the matches.
Mr. Cao Minh Si is a loyal supporter of the Vietnamese student football league.
"I ride my motorbike from Thu Duc to here every day just to watch, and I'll keep watching until it's over. If it's organized next year and I can still make it, I'll go, until I can't anymore. I'm addicted!", Mr. Si enthusiastically shared.
Mr. Si revealed that he "fell in love" with the king of sports at the age of 15 and regularly participated in football matches both within and outside Dong Thap province.

More than five years ago, due to health reasons, he had to retire from playing football and has since become an enthusiastic fan of football matches, big or small, in Ho Chi Minh City.
Mr. Si was once a dominant center-back who dominated many football fields both within and outside Dong Thap province.
Watching intently the match between the Da Nang University of Physical Education and Sports team and Van Lang University on the afternoon of March 19, 2024, Mr. Si highly appreciated the quality of this year's players and also praised the Thuy Loi University team.
"I enjoy watching football, and I support whichever team is good, I don't favor any particular team. These student players are of good quality. The quality is OK. The Water Resources University team from the North came here, that team will definitely win the championship!", the 65-year-old former central defender asserted.
Mr. Si has high expectations for the Water Resources University team to win the championship.
Mr. Si commented: "This student tournament is very well organized. In general, it should be organized annually like this to create a movement for young people today. Playing football is good; it promotes unity, physical fitness, and fun. It's fun and healthy!"
Mr. Si carefully monitors the tournament schedule to avoid missing any matches.
The 2nd Vietnam Youth and Student Football Tournament - 2024 THACO Cup has proven its strong appeal and widespread popularity, attracting not only students but also connecting hearts with a love for football. People like Mr. Si have inadvertently relived their youth through the fiery matches at Ton Duc Thang University Stadium.
