On September 16, Coach Saad Al Shehri announced the list of 22 names with the Saudi Arabian Olympic team to compete at the 19th ASIAD.
Of these, 21/22 players were with Saudi Arabia U23 in the 2024 U23 Asian qualifiers, except Hamed Al Shanqeeti.
In addition, the newly announced list includes 9 players from the Saudi Arabian national team including: Meshal Al-Sebyani, Zakaria Hawsawi, Faisal Al-Ghamdi, Musab Al-Juwayr, Awad Al-Nashri, Saad Al-Nasser, Haitham Asiri, Mohammed Maran and Abdullah Radifla.
Notably, striker Haitham Asiri was the player who played in the victory against Argentina at the 2022 World Cup, the team that later won the championship.
At the tournament held in Hangzhou (China), Saudi Arabia was in a group with the presence of Olympic Vietnam, Iran and Mongolia.
In another development, the Vietnam Olympic team arrived in China on September 16 to prepare for the 19th ASIAD.
This time, coach Hoang Anh Tuan brought 18/22 players of U20 age.
