This morning (June 26), the Central Organizing Committee coordinated with the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) to organize an "Online conference to foster knowledge on Party building for leaders, reporters, and editors of press agencies and news agencies in 2024".
Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee Phan Thang An said that the work of building and rectifying the Party and the political system is facing new and higher requirements, requiring good implementation of the key tasks and solutions set forth by the 13th National Congress and the Central Executive Committee Conferences.
The world and regional situation is complicated and unpredictable, creating many difficulties and challenges for our country, including Party building. Therefore, the task of protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting and refuting the distorted arguments of hostile forces; strengthening the people's trust and attachment to the Party, the State and the socialist regime; actively fighting against individualism, preventing and combating corruption and negativity; and preventing, repelling and strictly handling cadres and Party members who have degraded in political ideology, ethics, lifestyle, and manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation"... is extremely important.
Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee Phan Thang An emphasized that the conference on training knowledge on Party building for leaders, reporters, and editors of news agencies and newspapers was organized to supplement knowledge, raise awareness, update new viewpoints, and issues of concern in Party building work in terms of politics, ideology, ethics, organization, and cadres, contributing to effectively propagating the implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the resolutions of Party Congresses at all levels for the 2020-2025 term.
Along with that, it is necessary to foster skills in selecting topics, exploiting and processing information, and imparting creative experiences in works on Party building and building the political system to reporters and editors who propagate Party building of news agencies and newspapers at the central and local levels. Thereby, contributing to better information and propaganda work serving the leadership and direction of Party building, associated with improving the quality of the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award.
Through training conferences on Party building, the Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee hopes that journalists will have more knowledge and information to improve the quality of writing press works on Party building, especially more knowledge to protect the Party's ideological foundation, develop theories on Party building and practice of Party building work, reflect new models and creative ways of implementing, studying and effectively grasping the Party's resolutions and the results of implementing the 13th National Congress resolution, as well as the 13th Central Committee resolutions.
Press works contribute to timely encouragement and propaganda about the results and efforts to remove difficulties and obstacles of localities and units to continue to organize the apparatus of the political system to be streamlined, operate effectively and efficiently; build a team of cadres who are both virtuous and talented, equal to the requirements of tasks in the new situation; build the Party in terms of ethics; fight corruption, waste, negativity, and the pursuit of positions and power...

On that basis, press agencies should be more proactive and innovative in information and propaganda work on Party building and the political system on mass media in the direction of combining construction and prevention, in which construction is the basic long-term strategy, implementing well the motto of "using positivity to push back negativity", "using beauty, eliminating ugliness".
At the same time, continue to improve the quality and effectiveness so that the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award becomes an activity of profound political significance, with practical effects on Party building work; making Party members and people increasingly more aware of the Party and the work of Party building and building the political system.
According to the training program, delegates listened to and discussed the following topics:
- Protect the Party's ideological foundation, fight against and remove bad and toxic information on cyberspace;
- New contents on Party building and political system work in the resolutions of the 13th Central Conference;
- Some issues on creating journalistic works in the political genre;
- Skills in creating radio and television works;
- Introduce the theme of creative journalistic works on Party building and the political system; new models, creative and effective methods in Party building work;
- Skills in creating photojournalistic works, sharing creative experiences of authors and groups of authors who won high prizes at the Golden Hammer and Sickle Awards.
The topics discussed at the Conference are very important, necessary and useful for those working in propaganda; contributing to consolidating and improving skills, methods, expertise and quality in propaganda work on Party building and political system building, suitable to the requirements in the new situation.
Useful knowledge will help leaders, reporters, and editors of news agencies and newspapers better define their roles and responsibilities in propaganda and dissemination work to build and protect the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, contributing to political stability and socio-economic development in the locality.
2024 is the 4th year that the Online Conference to foster knowledge on Party building for leaders, reporters, and editors of news agencies and newspapers has been held with the main connection point being the Central Organizing Committee Headquarters and online to 66 provincial and municipal Party Committee connection points directly under the Central Government. The conference was attended by 1,720 delegates who are leaders, reporters, editors of press agencies nationwide; officials and leaders working in information and propaganda of the Department of Information and Communications of provinces and centrally-run cities. |
