Playing away from home, Kayserispor surprisingly took the lead in the 7th minute thanks to a goal from Ramazan Civelek. However, Fenerbahce fought back strongly and in the 36th minute, Anderson Talisca scored the equalizer, making it 1-1 for Jose Mourinho's team.
Just three minutes into the second half, Fenerbahce suffered a setback when goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic unfortunately scored an own goal, giving Kayserispor a 2-1 lead. However, Fenerbahce's fighting spirit was evident for the remainder of the match. Allan Saint-Maximin scored the equalizer in the 64th minute, and then Talisca scored his second goal in the 79th minute, putting the home side ahead 3-2.
It seemed as though Fenerbahce would hold onto this advantage, but a surprise occurred in the 4th minute of added time when Talha Sariarslan scored the equalizer for Kayserispor, making it 3-3 and causing Fenerbahce to drop two valuable points.
This draw allows league leaders Galatasaray to extend their lead over Fenerbahce to five points. Galatasaray had previously won 2-0 against Bodrum FK. The title race between these two clubs is becoming increasingly intense with six rounds remaining in the Super Lig.
Fenerbahce continues its impressive unbeaten run in the domestic league. The last time Mourinho's team lost was on December 7, 2024, when Fenerbahce suffered a 0-1 defeat against Besiktas.
Fenerbahce will have to put their faith in Talisca, a striker who has been in excellent form over the past month. The former Al Nassr star has scored 7 goals in his last 5 matches across all competitions.
