Within the framework of the “Thanh Hoa City - Hoi An City Cultural Week” in 2024, on the morning of April 29, at Hoi An Park, the “Thien - Ha - Thai - Binh” word running game took place. This is a traditional cultural feature of Ve Yen village, Quang Thang ward (Thanh Hoa city). The word running game was performed by the Quang Thang ward Traditional Culture and Arts Club.
Ve Yen village, Quang Thang ward is an agricultural village but has a martial arts tradition. The martial arts spirit of the people of Ve Yen village has been passed down from generation to generation.
According to documents that the people of Ve Yen village still keep, it is clearly stated: "The game of running the words "Thien - Ha - Thai - Binh" combined with martial arts performances has been introduced to the village for a long time.
After the success of the August Revolution in 1945, every year on the 7th and 8th of January, when the Yen Ve village festival takes place, there is a game of running the words "Thien - Ha - Thai - Binh".
The "Thien - Ha - Thai - Binh" word race combined with martial arts performance aims to educate the community about martial arts spirit to be ready to protect the Fatherland and wish for the country to always be peaceful and prosperous.
Since then, the word running game "Thien - Ha - Thai - Binh" has become a traditional cultural feature of Ve Yen village and is often performed on major holidays of Quang Thang ward, Thanh Hoa city and Thanh Hoa province.
The forces participating in the word running game include the flag bearer, the drum bearer, the general and soldiers with knives, swords, sticks, flags...
... and divided into two armies, blue and red, lined up in a vertical line.
The teams entered the yard to perform the ritual of bowing to the Village Guardian Spirit at the command of the drums.
With the meaning of showing the fighting spirit of our army and people and the desire for peace and prosperity for the country, the teams ran parallel to the words: "Thien - Ha" first.
After returning to the assembly point, the red army runs the word "Thien - Ha" and shouts "Thien - Ha". The blue army runs the word "Thai - Binh" and shouts "Thai - Binh".
Next, the two armies switch positions and run the letters to each other.

Then the teams run into the spiral and return to the assembly point...
... to continue running the 4 words "Thien - Ha - Thai - Binh". While running, shout "Thien - Ha - Thai - Binh".
Finally, the two teams line up to form the four words “Thien - Ha - Thai - Binh”. At the same time, they stand up and sit down to form the wave of the words “Thien - Ha - Thai - Binh”.
