Many generations of entrepreneurs have shared this, when they were concerned about sending the Government initiatives, proposals, solutions and even specific plans, right after the Government sent the message that "Vietnamese enterprises, especially large enterprises, need to proactively pioneer in big, difficult and new tasks, solving problems at the national level".
Many of them, 20 years ago, emotionally welcomed the Vietnamese Entrepreneurs Day on October 13 after a long journey of efforts to overcome the twists and turns of the early years of Doi Moi, overcome the challenges of the market, of unfamiliar competition, to contribute their efforts and money to the great story of overcoming poverty in Vietnam. At that time, Vietnam had less than 20,000 enterprises.
Currently, Vietnam has 930,000 active enterprises, about 14,400 cooperatives and more than 5 million business households. The business and entrepreneur force contributes about 60% of GDP and 85% of the total workforce.
When looking at the formation and development of the Vietnamese business community, macroeconomic researchers have commented that they have existed and even developed in periods when there were no favorable conditions for businesses..., and now they can do more, bigger, and stronger.
The problem is, although the footsteps of Thaco, VinFast in the automobile industry or the way Sun Group is investing in airports, Deo Ca becoming the king of road tunnels... have affirmed that the Vietnamese private sector can do many things, but it is not enough to see the stormy leaps that businessmen expect, like the way Japan and Korea did in the last century.
In fact, the strength of Vietnamese enterprises, although greatly improved after 40 years of Renovation, is still young compared to the world, as well as compared to the requirements of the problem of bringing Vietnam into the group of developing countries with modern industry and high average income by 2030 and becoming a developed country with high income by 2045.
Large-scale, influential enterprises with the capacity to lead production and supply chains are still few. Even up to now, when the Vietnamese economy has deeply integrated with the world economy, belonging to the group with the highest openness in the world, the story of seasonal business thinking, poor connectivity and cooperation, and limited ability to take advantage of opportunities from integration is still present in business situation assessment reports.
Meanwhile, the business environment, mechanisms, and policies to encourage and support businesses, although continuously included in the priority tasks of the Government and local authorities and greatly improved, still have a significant gap compared to developed economies, as well as to the development needs of the business community...
The country's leaders have clearly recognized this.

But above all, the breakthrough orientations in national development in the coming period continue to be affirmed as institutional breakthroughs, renewing old growth drivers and promoting new growth drivers on the basis of applying science - technology, innovation...
In particular, the highest political determination is being sent so that the next two decades, from 2021 to 2045, will be a new era - the era of the Vietnamese people's rise.
The unlimited development space for both the Vietnamese economy and enterprises is opening up. However, the key is the institutions, mechanisms, and policies for enterprises, especially economic groups, including large state-owned and private economic groups, to participate in solving the country's major problems.
The business community is on the alert!
